Missions for businesses vary as widely as the business themselves. Any new business worth its salt will plan for giving back from the very beginning stages of the company. In fact, it should be the mission core of the business itself since most companies exist to fill a need. Philanthropy in business must be insanely genuine. Don’t give back just for the sake of giving back. If philanthropy isn’t in your nature, you might want to consider hiring someone who has an objective position in your company to tackle the mission of giving back.

Their desire to have an experience rather than something tangible means philanthropy allows your business to offer a meaningful experience in exchange for fresh talent.
These are a given when it comes to business and charitable work and donations, but it definitely shouldn’t be your only reason. There are different ways you can spin this benefit as well. The easiest would be a one-off donation to a charitable organization; however, you might decide to do a group volunteer event where you give your employees a paid day to give back. You could also give a certain percentage of the revenue you make from selling products and services. In whatever way you choose to give back, just be sure you stick to the guidelines.
Ultimately, philanthropy is free advertising for both your business and your cause. Posting pictures and generating a buzz around your chosen mission of giving back can attract the attention of the press as well as let your customers know that you care. It’s also possible that the non-profit organization you are promoting will mention you too.
